UF Health Central Florida Emergency Care Facility – Eustis, FL
Taking a significant step in providing essential services to the residents of Eustis, FL, the new UF Health Freestanding Emergency Care Facility offers improved access to high-quality emergency care. The combined ER and urgent care facility handles both emergent and non-emergent cases, with the appropriate level of treatment available 24/7. As an adaptive reuse of a former retail pharmacy location, this 11,200 sq. ft. project was delivered by Meyer Najem’s Southeast regional office.
One of the project’s most significant challenges involved ensuring the safety of both construction crews and the community. Previously, a back road leading to a neighboring shopping center cut through the construction site. To address this safety hazard, the Meyer Najem Southeast team implemented a new logistics plan. This included strategically placed fencing to block unauthorized shortcut traffic and proactive coordination with nearby businesses to minimize disruption.
The facility exemplifies UF Health’s unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare services while prioritizing a positive patient experience. By providing convenient access to high-quality emergency care, this facility will significantly benefit the surrounding communities.
