Moon Drops Distillery
Moon Drops Distillery is a family-owned distillery and tasting room that specializes in bourbon, vodka, rum, moonshine and other crafted spirits. Located in Fortville, Indiana, Moon Drops’ small town, community values are stirred into every ounce of their business model, which was founded on supporting local businesses and ensuring their product is made in America—from grain to glass.
The Meyer Najem Special Projects Division partnered with Curran Architecture to bring Founder and President Mark Pressley’s vision to life, creating a rustic tasting room and bar that features stone accents, moody lighting, concrete floors, and speakeasy-style barrel chairs.
“Moon Drops Distillery has a very distinct atmosphere to it,” said Project Manager Nick Geiger. “There were some nuances to the project that required a high level of detail. We’re happy to have an end-product that is so closely aligned with the owner’s vision.”
This 3,200 square-foot renovation was completed inside the distillery’s 9,000 square-foot active production facility that houses barrels, copper sills, fermenting tanks, and other essential equipment. Collaborating closely with Moon Drop’s staff, the Meyer Najem team placed emphasis on organization and efficiency, ensuring the distillery’s production was not affected. In turn, construction was completed in just under three months, allowing Moon Drops Distillery to successfully open their tasting room to the public in early December 2022.
