Our summer interns have proven to be invaluable assets to the Meyer Najem team. Through hands-on experience and dedication, they have not only gained a deeper understanding of the construction industry but have also developed essential skills for future success.
The transition from theoretical classroom learning to the practicalities of construction can be a significant challenge, but our interns have risen to the occasion. Understanding how materials come together to form a building is a world apart from simply knowing the components. This newfound comprehension has been instrumental in their ability to navigate and understand the construction process from inception to completion.
The importance of effective communication and collaboration cannot be overstated in the construction industry. Our interns have honed these skills through daily interactions with tradespeople and by participating in team meetings. They’ve also embraced the opportunity to learn and master new technologies, such as design programs used in VDC. While these tools presented initial challenges, their determination and problem-solving abilities enabled them to quickly become proficient.
From tackling the intricacies of submittals to gaining a deeper understanding of preconstruction processes, our interns have immersed themselves in the world of construction. Their experiences this summer have undoubtedly equipped them with a strong foundation for successful careers in the industry. As they prepare to return to school, we are confident that they will carry the knowledge and skills gained at Meyer Najem into their future endeavors.
